About Diamond Lure Lake

The centerpiece of Diamond Lure Campground & RV Resort is our beautiful 15-acre private lake, a peaceful and scenic spot that has been drawing campers and anglers for generations. Created in 1971 during the initial development of the campground, the lake was part of the founding vision to create a serene, family-friendly retreat where nature and recreation meet.

Fed by a natural mountain stream and underground spring, the lake stays clear, cool, and full year-round. At its deepest point, the lake reaches an impressive 33 feet, making it ideal for swimming, fishing, and relaxing by the water’s edge.

Fishing & Wildlife

Our lake is well-stocked with a variety of fish, including:

  • Largemouth Bass
  • Channel Catfish
  • Bream (Bluegill)
  • Grass Carp – some of the biggest you’ll see anywhere!

Fishing is catch-and-release only, so every cast helps preserve the fun for others. Whether you’re an experienced angler or just introducing your kids to the joy of fishing, you’ll find our lake offers a rewarding experience in a calm and natural setting.

A Lake with Purpose

Beyond recreation, the lake serves as a gathering place for campers to enjoy swimming, lakeside games, and quiet moments on the dock. Surrounded by trees and wildlife, it’s a favorite spot for both peaceful reflection and outdoor adventure.

⚠ Wildlife Awareness

While wildlife sightings are typically safe and awe-inspiring, it’s good to remember that you’re hiking in the North Georgia mountains, where encounters with animals such as deer, wild turkeys, or even the occasional bear are possible. Stay calm, give wildlife plenty of space, and enjoy the rare opportunity to observe nature in its natural habitat.

Pro tip: Always wear proper footwear, bring water, and take your time—these trails are made for enjoying, not rushing.
