How to Keep Your Dog Safe and Happy at the Campground

Camping with your dog can be one of the most rewarding parts of the RV lifestyle—fresh air, open space, and endless new smells to explore! At Diamond Lure Campground & RV Resort, we love seeing furry friends enjoying the great outdoors alongside their humans. To help make your trip safe, fun, and stress-free for both you and your pup, here are a few helpful tips.

1. Keep Your Dog Leashed (Except in the Dog Park!)

Even the most well-behaved pups can get excited in a new environment. To keep them safe—and avoid any campground mishaps—please keep dogs leashed at all times unless they’re in our enclosed dog park, where they can run and play freely.

2. Make Use of Dog-Friendly Amenities

Diamond Lure is extra pet-friendly! Take advantage of our dog beach for swimming, and use our dog wash station to rinse off after muddy trail adventures. These dedicated areas are designed with your dog’s comfort (and your convenience) in mind.

3. Don’t Forget the Essentials

Bring everything your dog needs to feel at home: food, water bowl, leash, toys, bedding, poop bags, and any necessary medications. A familiar toy or blanket can help ease anxiety in a new place.

4. Keep It Clean

Please pick up after your pup—always. We have pet waste stations throughout the campground to make it easy. A clean campground is a happy campground!

5. Respect Quiet Hours

Your dog might bark at unusual noises or wildlife at night. If you know your pup tends to get vocal, try bringing them inside during quiet hours (10 PM–8 AM) to help everyone get a good night’s sleep.

6. Stay Aware of Wildlife

You’re camping in the North Georgia mountains, which means wildlife encounters are possible. Always supervise your dog and don’t let them chase or approach animals. Keeping them close is the best way to stay safe.

With a little preparation and awareness, camping with your dog can be a fun and memorable adventure. At Diamond Lure, we’re proud to be a place where pets are part of the family—and we can’t wait to welcome you and your tail-wagging travel buddy!
